Tablescape Thursday: Weekend Brunch

Today’s tablescape lends a nod to something I love….a delicious brunch. There is just something special about a leisurely weekend morning spent eating scrumptious food with the ones you love. It is a time when no one is in a hurry, and the day holds so much promise.

I chose to keep my brunch simple by hosting it in the breakfast area of my kitchen.  On the menu was breakfast casserole, fruit salad, and blueberry muffins.

Each place setting was anchored with a French placemat, accented by Lenox Butterfly Meadow Napkins, and tied with Hydrangea napkin rings. The plate stack consisted of a Mikasa English Countryside plate topped with a bird plate. I purchased the bird plates several years ago at Old Time Pottery. Each plate showcases a different bird.

I chose to keep the centerpiece simple by placing lemons in a jadeite cake stand. I love the added touch of green and yellow.  At the base of the cake stand, I placed a sweet bird’s nest and jadeite salt and pepper shakers.
