Bunnies and Blooms

Happy Tuesday, friends! Today is all about bunnies and blooms. It is an exciting day, because I am joining 17 other table stylists to bring you our spring and Easter tablescapes. This fun gathering is being hosted by our dear friend, Rita, who authors the blog Panoply. Links to the participant’s beautiful tables can be found at the end of this post.

Every spring, I am so excited to display my favorite bunnies and add lots of pretty blooms around my home and garden. In addition, it is when my favorite holiday, Easter, arrives.

“The very first Easter taught us this: that life never ends and love never dies.”-Kate McCahan

I chose to set my table in the dining room with plenty of blooms to celebrate the joy of Easter and the season of spring.

“Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.”-Martin Luther

This year, I added a new bunny to my collection. He serves as the perfect centerpiece for our Easter table. He looks like a giant white chocolate bunny! I think the blue satin bow makes him look quite dapper. Pretty embellished eggs are scattered about as well as one tucked into his basket.

An assortment of glass bottles filled with bouquets of pink roses, coral tulips, and purple alstroemeria are sprinkled throughout the center of the table.

The table runner and placemats are by April Cornell.

“The greatest gift of Easter is hope.”-Basil Hume

“Do not abandon yourselves in despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.”-Pope John Paul II

The place settings are comprised of my grandmother’s Spode Rosebud Chintz china and her pink glassware. The flatware is Michelangelo by Oneida. It was part of my bridal registry, and I use it often. Each plate is topped with a pink linen napkin and tied with a pearl napkin ring.

“If you want to be reminded of the love of the Lord, just watch the sunrise.”-Jeannette Walls

A bunny and some blooms were also added to the sideboard in the dining room.

Pink tulips were added to a blue and white pitcher.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, my grandmother adored rabbits as much as I do. She had quite an assortment of rabbit decor and collectables. This sweet rabbit was from her collection.

More blooms can be found on a small antique table tucked into the corner of the dining room.

I am so happy that you joined me at my table to celebrate Easter and the season of spring. It is such a joyous time of rebirth, hope, and love.

Thank you so much for you visits and gracious comments. I wish you a most peaceful and happy day!

The new bunny is the perfect centerpiece and the blue satin bow does make him look quite dapper! The embellished eggs scattered about are so pretty. Glass bottles are ideal for roses, tulips, and alstroemeria. Your grandmother’s Spode rosebud chintz china and pink glassware are not only beautiful but a special keepsake of your beloved grandmother. I love the tall bunny on the sideboard, another memory of your grandmother. It is always a joy to be invited into your dining room, sweet friend! Happy Easter!

  2. Ahhhh Shannon, your table is so pretty! I love your table linens, and I like the idea of the rosy flowers scattered in smaller vases on your table runner. Your big bunny DOES look like a giant white chocolate bunny; that's what I thought it was when I first saw it. I like your grandmother's bunny on your server, too. Your spring vignettes are so pretty in your dining room. Happy spring!

  4. Such beautiful and vibrant blue and rose placemats, Shannon. the intensity of the color was my first impression of your table setting. It was nice to counter all the color with a softer centerpiece. Loved the bunny and the gorgeous porcelain eggs on the table. Your Grandmother's china is a favorite style of mine and the pink glasses were perfect accents. Lovely to hop with you. Happy Spring!

Shannon I have a bunny with basket just like yours but mine does NOT look like an edible chocolate bunny. I love all the tulips and other blooms…so pretty. Your grandmother's Spode rosebud chintz china is so special. and the glasses too. You can never go wrong with April Cornell linens. And the bunny on your sideboard…another memory of your Grandmother…how special is that? Happy Easter and Spring as it has certainly come to your dining room.
