Decorating with Baskets and a Fall Kitchen Tour

Happy Tuesday, dear friends! Today, I am excited to be joining several of my blogging friends to bring you our bountiful fall baskets. This fun event is being sponsored by the talented Amber at Follow the Yellow Brick Home. If you are visiting from Let’s Add Sprinkes, welcome!

When Amber invited me to join the tour, I was a little intimidated. I use baskets to corral magazines and books, but I had never given much thought to decorating with them. However, I thought the theme of bountiful fall baskets was a good one and decided to accept the challenge.

Last week, I attended an estate sale and was fortunate to find a few baskets, at a great price, that would work for the fall basket theme. My first basket creation graces my French pastry table.

I simply placed a colorful cloth napkin in the basket to create a foundation for my display. Then, I added a pretty potted mum and some blue and white plates to my ensemble. I love the added texture that the basket adds to the vignette.

Across from the pastry table is my breakfast area. I chose French table linens that reflect the colors of the autumn season. Sunflowers and apples create a simple centerpiece.

On the serving area behind the table, I placed a pumpkin, apples, pine cones, and fall flowers in a dough bowl.

Now, for my second bountiful basket idea…How about creating a serving basket for the kitchen island? This weekend I made several batches of chocolate chip pumpkin muffins for my family. I thought why not make a pretty fall basket with all of the accouterments to enjoy the sweet dessert.

First, I placed a pitcher of bright orange mums in the basket along with a creamer to hold dessert forks.

A stack of dessert plates and an adornment of fall vine and a pumpkin complete the autumn look.

Next up on the the tour is Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson.  You will find a list of all of the participants below. Thanks so much for your visits, sweet friends. I hope that you have a terrific and blessed Tuesday!!!
