Easter Blessings

Happy Tuesday, dear friends! Today, I am joining several of my blogging friends to bring you our tables adorned for Easter. This special event is being hosted by the talented Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate. A list of the participants is at the end of this post. You will want to be sure to visit them as I know they will brighten your day and lift your spirits.  If you are visiting from Debbee’s Buzz, welcome.

For many, this year’s Easter celebration will be quite different. I know mine will. It is my Easter tradition to prepare a big lunch and host both sides of Mr. Bleu’s and my family. I look forward to it every year. In fact, it may just be my favorite holiday. There are just four of us in the house right now. Our gathering will be small, but our hearts will be filled with gratitude for the Easter blessings that have been bestowed upon us. No matter how bad things may seem to be there are always hidden blessings to be found around us. The most important one is the Easter blessing that was given to us so many years ago.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Peter 1:3

Please step inside my dining room, and join me for an Easter lunch with all of the delicious trimmings!

This year,  Easter will be celebrated with grateful hearts. A pretty and festive table will be set and a delicious lunch will be prepared.  We have been doing curbside pickup for our groceries, and our store shelves are quite bare. I was tickled pink when I was able to get a ham in my last order. Easter ham is a tradition for our family dinner, and one that I am thankful to keep this year. When all of this is over, I will have another celebration to be shared with all of my family and loved ones.  For now, I will have to hold them close to my heart and be happy with a phone call and knowing they are safe and healthy.

For the setting, I chose to use my Haviland Moss Rose china paired with pink charger plates, green straw place mats, and my grandmother’s pink glassware.

For the underpinning of the table, I simply placed a tablecloth on the diagonal for a little interest and added color.

Mr. Bunny is standing guard at this end of the table.

Faux pink Hydrangeas and green and pink candles comprise the centerpiece.

Another bunny stands guard at the opposite end of the table.

Gathering some items that I had on hand, I decided to decorate the china cabinet.

I created floral swags and arrangements in pink and white flowers to be tucked into various areas of the shelving.

These sweet little sheep fit into the Easter and spring theme perfectly.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:  not as the word giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

My sweet friends thank you so much for your visits and comments.  I hope that you will take the the time to set a pretty Easter table no matter how small your gathering may be. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and stay healthy!

Next on the tour is my very dear blogging friend Pam at Everyday Living. I know you will enjoy your visit at her beautiful Easter table.
