A TRANSITIONAL TABLESCAPE

I hope that every one is enjoying these last few days of Summer.  Although I love Summer, I am looking so forward to the Fall Season.  I can’t believe that it is already September.  It seems like I blinked, and August was gone in a flash.  It seems the older I get, the faster the time goes by.

Today’s tablescape is not too Summery, but not quite a nod to Fall. It is what I call a transitional tablescape.

For the underpinning of my table, I chose a French tablecloth in a Jacobean print.  I ran a lace table runner down the middle of the table.

Gold charger plates topped with blue stoneware creates the place setting.

The napkins are French linens tied with red floral napkin rings.

For the centerpiece, I chose a simple English Ivy in a red container flanked by antique brass candlestick holders with cream candles.

  3. Beautiful table. The “china cabinet” (as my Grandma always called it) in the background is just like one my parents had. Lots of memories. Residing safely in my brother’s home. Love those glasses and napkins.
