Good morning, dear friends! Today, I am so excited to be joining some of my blogging friends to show you how we celebrate summer. This fun tour is being hosted by the sweet and talented Amber at Follow the Yellow Brick Home. You will find links to the participating bloggers at the end of this post. If you are visiting from Cecilia’s blog My Thrift Store Addiction, welcome. I am so happy that you are here!
As a family, one of our most favorite things to do during the summer is cook and dine outside. Summer is a time when things move at a slower pace. The longer days allow you to linger outside for just a few moments more enjoying all of the beauty that nature provides. Mr. Bleu and I spend many of a summer evening sitting on the back porch reflecting on the days events or precious memories. Cicadas and tree frogs provide a musical backdrop.
For my summer celebration, I chose to do a cheerful, alfresco summer tablescape on the back deck. Sunflowers always make me smile. They are one of the happiest of flowers!
The American Fostoria goblets are brimming with peach tea. It has become my favorite summertime beverage.
The underpinning for the table is a French tablecloth that I bought from a delightful French import store in New Orleans. When I am in the area, I always stop by, because they have the prettiest French table linens. For the plate stack, I used my Mikasa English Countryside topped with a salad plate. The pattern of the salad plate is Toile de Jardin by Queen’s.
Up next on the tour is my sweet and very talented friend, Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate. I know that you are sure to find a summer celebration at her house.
Thanks so much for your visits! It is my wish that you enjoy and relish in that last lingering days of summer. May you all have a most terrific Tuesday!!!
You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!
Good morning Shannon! Your table could be in the South of France, the cloth is reminiscent of one I found on a trip a few years ago. Sunflowers always make for a very happy table and who doesn’t like peach tea?! The transferware adds the perfect finish to your beautiful table. Happy Tuesday sweet friend.
Your table is gorgeous! Sunflowers always make me happy!
Your table is just delightful Shannon! The way you arranged the sunflowers is perfect for your beautiful garden setting. Yellow and blue always say summer as well as the fresh peaches!
Lovely, lovely table Shannon. I do love your tablecloth and the sunflowers are not only beautiful, but perfect for your table.
Happy day and week to you, sweet friend.
I’m crushing on your toile plates and they are perfect with your lovely sunflower centerpiece! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Your table setting is so gorgeous Shannon! I love the calm summer blue and the cheery pops of yellow. I don’t know where you find all of your dishes but they’re all amazing. Every tablescape you put together is so unique. Hope your summer has been a fabulous one, CoCo
Such a gorgeous tablesetting and what a fabulous outdoor area to enjoy to. This would be where you would find me all day.
This is lovely and vibrant at the same time. Blues are my favorite, but I really love them paired with yellows!
Shannon, your table out of doors is so lovely. It looks like a table set in the French countryside. I am so glad you have found the time to enjoy time out there! You know, I always enjoy a beautiful table, and this is no exception!
Shannon you table looks perfectly summer and makes me think it’s cooler outside than it really is. When we hear the cicadas and frogs outside, it’s so loud! Are they that loud in your area? Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us. Happy Summer!
Beautiful tablescape Shannon? We seem to own so many of the same items!!! They always look so much better when YOU arrange them!!!
The tablecloth is gorgeous and I love the gingham napkins.
Love all your lovely French country details especially the mix of fabrics with your china and that gorgeous centerpiece. Simply lovely!
everything about your table is Fabulously Country French! LOVE that wonderful pottery centerpiece with sunflowers, such a gorgeous setting for a lovely alfresco evening.
Shannon I am so happy to have you back for our hops! We have missed you!
Your outdoor tablescape is so so perfect. I love the colors and of course the French country style. The tablecloth is just wonderful.
Peaches are a favorite summer time treat, and after seeing this post I am heading back to the market tomorrow to buy more. I bought a couple that I had planned to use in today’s post, but I couldn’t resist eating them before taking any pictures haha!
Thank you so much for celebrating summer with us!
I love everything about your table from the colors to the beautiful plates! What a wonderful outdoor eating space!
Your outdoor dining area is so beautiful. I love the colors and the sunflowers are so beautiful. Happy Summer Shannon!
So pretty. I love the blue and yellow together. Love that tablecloth!
You’ve created such a pretty, relaxing setting Shannon! Yes, summer evenings are a great time to eat outside and linger over conversation!
Blue and yellow together are so perfect for a cheery and elegant summer table! I love your tablecloth and serving ware. This looks like the perfect spot to sip peach tea (my fave) and listen to the cicadas. (We have lots of those where I live, too!) Happy to be hopping with you!
By the way, Shannon, I’d love for you to join us at Tuesday Turn About, which runs Tuesday afternoon through Friday afternoon each week!
Your summer table is set beautifully and is perfect for enjoying a late summer meal outdoors. I love your tablecloth and it looks so nice with your dishes and beautiful sunflowers.
What a lovely tablescape, Shannon! You always set such a pretty table, with beautiful and unique finds. I’m in love with those toile salad plates..
Shannon, your tablescape is stunning! I love the blue and yellow theme and the sunflower centerpiece is the perfect finishing touch. It looks like the perfect place to sit and dine while enjoying your wonderful backyard – I just love those trees! So happy to be hopping with you!
Shannon, your summer table is gorgeous. I love sunflowers too. I love the French blues. Would you share the name of the store in New Orleans, as we go every year after Christmas and I’d love to check it out. Our summer outdoor dining is over as the August heat is now in the 100’s. Your patio looks so cool and inviting.
Shannon, I am so glad to see you are posting again. I love your style. I prefer a warm, traditional french country look myself, and I feel like it’s hard to find in “blog land”. Everything is so white, gray, or neutral, which I also like in pictures, but don’t feel is “homey” to live with, for me personally. I’m so glad you are continuing to post! It’s great to have design inspiration I can relate to that’s bucking the all neutral-gray-white trend!
