Happy Tuesday, dear readers! Today, you are invited to join me for a golden hour tea set in your honor. You may be wondering why I chose the golden hour to share my tea setting. In Northeastern Oklahoma, the heat and humidity has been quite oppressive. It has just been too hot to do anything outdoors! However, I had my heart set on hosting my tea outdoors surrounded by God’s beauty. The golden hour provided the perfect opportunity as the sun was going down, and the temperature cooled a few degrees.

Today, I am honored to be a guest for Tea on Tuesdays. On the third Tuesday of each month, my sweet friends, Mary at Home is Where the Boat Is and Pam at Everyday Living, share their gorgeous settings and love of all things tea. They are gracious hosts, and it is always a treat to join them for tea. You will find links to their lovely settings at the end of this post.

The golden hour is a period of time just after sunrise or before sunset when the sunlight is softer creating a lovely glow for taking photographs.

“A kind of golden hour one remembers for a life time…Everything was touched with magic.”-Margaret Bourke-White

An April Cornell tablecloth with its pretty floral pattern provides the perfect foundation for my table.

A green straw placemat provides texture, and for the plate stack I chose Famille Rose dinnerware by Williams Sonoma.

Sweet butterfly embroidered napkins provide a touch of whimsy and a special nod to my favorite garden visitors.

“Lost, yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered for they are gone forever.”-Horace Mann

It is way too warm for hot tea. So you will find plenty of iced tea on hand. Harney and Sons peach tea is one of my summertime favorites.

“Iced tea is too pure and natural a creation not to have been invented as soon as tea, ice, and hot weather crossed paths.”-John Egerton

Next to the table, I styled my tea cart with a pitcher of tea, treats, and a few butterfly bush blooms placed in a MacKenzie-Child’s creamer.

Keeping with the theme, homemade peach muffins were served alongside the tea. I found the pretty Grace Tea Ware tiered stand a few weeks ago at HomeGoods.

“Imagine a delicious glass of summer iced tea. Take a long cool sip. Listen to the ice crackle and clink. Is the glass part full or part empty? Take another sip. And now?”-Vera Nazarian

“If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are too heated, it will cool you; If you are depressed, it will cheer you; if you are excited, it will calm you.”-William Ewart Gladstone

For my centerpiece, I gathered some blooms from my gardens. White Wedding Hydrangeas, lavender butterfly bush blooms, and deep purple Crepe Myrtle flowers were in abundance. A Flower Market MacKenzie-Childs pitcher was the perfect vessel for my bouquet of garden blooms.

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”-John Lubbock

I would like to once again thank Mary and Pam for inviting me to be a part of this month’s edition of Tea on Tuesdays. As a fellow tea lover, it is always a treat to join them.

Please be sure and visit my friend’s gorgeous settings. Links are posted at the end of this post.

Before you leave, I want to share something beautiful with you that I recently captured with my camera. After all, we are having tea during the evening hours. I hope you will find the images as amazing as I did. I was in awe of the beauty that surrounded me. It was magical!

These breathtaking sunset images are actually made possible due to a Saharan dust plume. From late June to mid August, dust is carried by winds from the Saharan Desert across the Atlantic Ocean. It creates stunning sunrises and sunsets across the Oklahoma skies.

“That was her magic-she could still see the sunset, even on the darkest days.”-Atticus

Sweet friends, I hope that you have enjoyed your visit. I am so happy and honored that you took time out of your busy day to join me during the golden hour for tea. May you have a most blessed, peaceful, and happy day!

Love the color combo of flowers – eye catching
Good morning, Shannon. Your golden hour tea is magical. I love your tea table set on your patio with the green grass and trees in the background. The April Cornell floral tablecloth is a lovely foundation for your place settings of Famille Rose. The sweet butterfly embroidered napkins are charming. Did you do the stitching? Iced peach tea sounds delicious for these hot summer days. I would so enjoy a peach muffin this morning. The tea cart with your new Grace Teaware stand and butterfly bush blooms is perfect to accompany your tea table. The centerpiece of white wedding hydrangeas, lavender butterfly bush blooms, and crepe Myrtle flowers are stunning in the Flower Market MKC pitcher.
As always it is a pleasure to share tea with you. Wishing you a wonderful day and stay cool 💕
Good Morning Shannon! What a treat to join you for the golden hour and witness your glorious sunset photos! I love your garden blooms in your MKC Flower Market pitcher, paired with your Famille Rose dinnerware. The green straw mats are a perfect complement. Peach iced tea sounds so refreshing for summer and I love your pretty new tiered server. Our lake view faces west and while we enjoy sunset views, but don’t have a lick of shade now that our maple tree is gone…*sniff*. It’s been pore-cleansing weather here, yesterday at 8 pm it was still in the 90s. I’ve become a heat wimp so I admire your ability to photograph a table outdoors! Thank you so much for joining us for tea today. Stay cool and wishing you a wonderful week. 🌸💗
Good Morning, sweet Shannon. Your table is so lovely. Your centerpiece caught my eye! How wonderful to be able to use your own garden flowers!
Peach iced tea is a delightful drink for a hot summer day! So refreshing.
Your tea cart styled so pretty with your tiered tray and treats is a perfect addition.
How wonderful it was to see your beautiful sunset! A perfect ending for a perfect tea!
Happy Tuesday! Stay cool!
Oh Shannon I want to pull up a chair and sit at your lovely table, be it the early golden hour or the later golden hour. I love that time of day only I call them the blue hour. Your sunset photos are amazing. What a blessing to have that view. I also love the quotes you included……oh to lie on the grass and watch the clouds roll by. I used to do that all the time but now I am afraid if I get down there I won't be able to get up by myself so the Captain would have to come to my rescue. LOL I love anything peach and now is the perfect time to get those sweet Georgia peaches…..We just had peach shortcake with delicious peaches spooned over the top. Yummy. I also like your tea cart and treats and beautiful wedding hydrangeas. and I have always been envious of your Famille Rose Dinnerware. We are going to have more normal temps today or so the weatherman says…which will give relief thanks to a tropical storm, so I am hoping you get cooler weather too. Hugs and Blessings Always🥰❤️🌸🍀
This is just lovely Shannon! I love that you chose the Golden Hour to have your tea party, a beautiful time of day. Your plates are beautiful and those butterfly embroidered napkins look so pretty. The teacart styled with treats is delightful and I love your gorgeous flower arrangements in the MKC pieces. I love the quotes you included, especially the one by Gladstone. Peach tea with a peach muffin sound perfect. The sunsets are incredible!! Thank you for your hospitality!
Beautiful Sunset pictures! Lovely table setting, the dishes were perfect and your beautiful flower arrangement complimented everything.
Shannon, I'm a day late, but so happy to be here to join you for your golden hour teatime. Your garden setting is always pretty and welcoming. I of course can relate to hot weather and high humidity. Every detail is styled to perfection. Love your gorgeous sunsets.
Beautiful tea setting, Shannon! THough I'm late to the party this week, I just wanted you to know I loved your setting, the golden hour (for me, it's that morning hour), and your beautiful flowers from the garden as the table centerpiece. The verses splashed throughout are perfect for this summertime tea. That peach sounds gloriously good!
