Good morning, my dear friends! I am so excited to be back with my tablescaping friends to bring you our summer tables. Our new leader is the sweet Rita from Panoply. Rita has such a beautiful collection of antique treasures, and l truly appreciate her being our hostess. We are all kindred spirits in our love of setting a pretty table, and we are so happy to be back together again. A list of the participants and links to their tables are at the bottom of this post.
Please, come and join me outside in the warm sunshine for some peach tea and a little “table talk” to welcome summer.
Peach tea is a favorite summer treat of mine. I may have had a few glasses while I was working on this table. The heat and humidity was terrible! We had a very unseasonably cool spring, but June is starting off with a vengeance. Daily temperatures have been in the mid 90s with high humidity. However, I love summer and will take this over the cloudy winter time any day of the week. Sunshine just makes you feel so much better! I cannot tell a lie though, I am forever grateful for air conditioning.
During a recent trip to the grocery store, I spied that the floral department was filled with oodles and oodles of glorious sunflowers. A bouquet just had to come home with me! They make the perfect simple centerpiece in my green French confit pot lending a French Country theme to the tablescape. A lemon tablecloth makes a cheerful statement to the table along with the pretty green checked napkins from Amy Montgomery Home. Green straw placemats serve as a wonderful accent and perfect backdrop to my Grandmother’s china. Last week, I purchased new everyday flatware, and you will see that I used them on my table. They are Luxe by Wallace, and I love them. Each piece in the place setting is different and is a replica of an earlier antique piece from their collection. Even though each piece is different, they all blend beautifully together.
You just can’t help but smile when you see pretty, bright, yellow sunflowers. I do believe that they are one of the most cheerful flowers around.
My sweet friends, I am so happy that you stopped by for tea and a little “table talk.” Your visits always bring sunshine to my day. I could probably go on for hours about tablescaping! Sunflowers are always perfect, but especially to welcome summer. They look beautiful in your confit pot. The lemon tablecloth is so cheery and welcoming. It will be a while before we can get them here. Our weather as been the same as yours, and the humidity is about ready to make me melt! Sweet Shannon, I always love your tables and this is no different. Love the tablecloth, you have so many pretty ones. Your centerpiece with sunflowers is amazing. June was very humid here in NJ too. This is why I have a love hate relationship with this time of year.

Good afternoon, Shannon. Your table is lovely and is so inviting for a nice summer lunch or supper. It has been quite warm here as well. However, today there is not an ounce of humidity in the air and our temps are in the mid 70's. Also, love your confit pot, I am partial to the green.

Shannon, peach tea and sunflowers are two of my favorite things. It has been hot and humid in Wisconsin too. It does make it harder to enjoy the outside, but, like you, I love the summer season. What a lovely tablescape in an beautiful outdoor setting. I love how the sunlight casts a lovely shade over the table. The lemons and soft color plates provide so much tranquility to the table. A friend gave me a bouquet last week and I really enjoyed them. I love how you used your confit pot as part of your centerpiece. I have two, but I’ve never thought to use them in a centerpiece.
