HYDRANGEA TABLESCAPE

I mentioned on Monday that my thoughtful husband surprised me with an anniversary trip to Dallas last weekend.  When I go to the Dallas area, I cannot get away without doing a little shopping.  One of my favorite places to shop is Sur La Table in Plano.  We do not have one in Oklahoma so, for someone who loves to cook, Sur La Table is a real treat.  They have all kinds of neat items for the home cook, and the staff is friendly and helpful.  During this trip, I found some of the most adorable items to add to my dish collection.

I used a blue tablecloth for the underpinning to my tablescape.  It was one that I have had for awhile.  I also used yellow straw placemats that I already owned to anchor my new dishes. The blue plates and hydrangea salad plate were new items I purchased this weekend. I absolutely love them!!!

The blue searsucker napkins and hydrangea napkin rings were also purchased at Sur La Table.  I love the look of searsucker in the Summer.  It is perfect for a garden tablescape.

The blue goblets are the perfect accent to the place setting.

I already had the green jadeite cake stand. I filled it with lemons to tie the yellow placemats together in the setting.  I purchased the jadeite votives and green salt and pepper shakers to add to my collection.

I used my Great Grandmother’s  American Fostoria glasses for vases to hold the arrangements of hydrangeas and daisies.

  3. What a beautiful tablescape! The blue and yellow are a perfect color combination. I love Hydrangea’s especially blue ones so I love this theme. Unfortunately I can’t grow blue ones where I live (soil to alkaline), so when I see blue hydrangea on anything I love it. Your plate stack is gorgeous and you have combined all of your elements to make for one gorgeous table! Using the lemons is genius so fresh looking. Love it all!

  15. Hi Shannon,
I love your blue and yellow tablescape! Those colours compliment one another so well. Everything looks fabulous! I like your use of the green Jadeite too and what lovely glasses to hold your flowers. Those having been your great-grandmother’s makes your table extra special!.
My son surprised me at Christmastime with a set of creamy white pumpkin soup tureens and matching plates he found at Sur La Table. {We don’t have one here and he really went out of his way to get them for me.} I was so pleased and surprised that he actually bought them. He knows I love those little white pumpkins and that was his inspiration.
Thank you for sharing with us and have a beautiful day.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

I can also see that you appreciate things that belonged to loved ones or were given by loved ones. They are true treasures. Thanks again for stopping by and have a great rest of your week!!!
