Happy Birthday America

Good morning, my dear friends, and happy birthday America!!! This week, I am so honored to be joining several of my sweet and talented blogging friends to bring you our patriotic tables. This fun celebration is being hosted by the very talented Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate. At the end of this post, you will find a schedule of the beautiful participating tables.

A long standing tradition with my family is to have a barbecue on the Fourth of July. It is something that my Grandparents started from the time my mother was a little girl. Neighbors, friends, and family would gather at my Grandparent’s house for a barbecue with all of the trimmings…salads, casseroles, desserts, and several flavors of homemade ice cream.  The evening would be topped off with lots of beautiful fireworks. It was truly such a fun time, and I have such fond memories of these celebrations. My Grandfather had a very patriotic heart and loved his country wholeheartedly. Independence Day was a holiday that he celebrated in grand style. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit of patriotism and love of country lives within our family.

For my patriotic table, I chose a plaid red, white, and blue tablecloth.

The centerpiece is a blue and white teapot with red, white, and  blue flowers. American Flags add the perfect patriotic touch.

Each placesetting consists of a navy woven placemat, red scalloped plate, and a Pottery Barn blue and white plate.

Blue glassware, Oneida flatware, and seersucker napkins with red flowers finish off each setting.

I am so happy that I was able to share my table, traditions, and memories with you! Tomorrow, I will be joining another wonderful group of ladies to bring you our patriotic porches. I hope that you will stop by for a visit. May you all have a very happy and blessed day!!!
