Good morning, sweet friends! I am so sorry that I have been absent from blogging the past couple of weeks. My world has been a little out of sorts. Most of the upheaval has been due to some exciting news…we are getting a new kitchen!!! I am as anxious as a little girl waiting on Santa to arrive. Last week, they came to demo our existing kitchen. However, as luck would have it, while I was packing the contents of my kitchen, I came down with a terrible infection. I have not been that sick in a long time. In fact, I am hardly ever sick. So, it really threw me for a loop! Poor Mr. Bleu had to step in and finish packing all of my dishes. We have kitchen wares and dishes in the living room, master bedroom, sunroom, and dining room. It is a crazy mess! I know that it will be worth it in the long run, and I am super excited. I have never planned a kitchen from the ground up, and I can’t wait to share everything with you.
For today, I am showing you a spring table that I recently created. It was inspired by a recent purchase of some pretty dishes from the Pioneer Woman collection. I know I made a promise after we moved to never buy another dish, but I just couldn’t help myself! These dishes have such wonderful color and remind me of something from long ago. They just make me happy, and are the perfect pick me up to the awful spring weather we have been having in Oklahoma. I don’t think winter wants to leave!!!
Simple flowers from the grocery store create colorful centerpieces to compliment the placesettings
Each setting consist of a plate stack from the Pioneer Woman’s new spring collection. As I stated before, I adore the pretty vintage floral pattern. Simple Mason Jars serve as drinking glasses, and each placesetting is topped off with a bright yellow napkin tied with a lovely floral napkin ring.
It can be very difficult to find enough plates at Walmart to complete your collection. I would find four dinner plates at one store and three at another. After visiting three different stores, I was able to find twelve dinner and twelve salad plates. Mr. Bleu reminded me all along the way of the promise I had broken. I guess I should have never made a promise that I knew I couldn’t keep.
Thank you so much for your visits and kind comments. I will be back soon to share all of my exciting kitchen progress. Today, they are going to start installing the cabinets and should be finished by Friday. Next week, the granite and backsplash will go in. Then, the following week our new flooring will be installed. Right now, our kitchen is completely empty, and we are making do with a coffee pot, toaster, and refrigerator. It won’t be long though, and we will be eating home cooked meals again. I hope that you all have a beautiful and blessed day!!!
