A CHANTICLEER TABLESCAPE

Happy Thursday everyone, and welcome to one of my favorite days of the week.  It is time for Tablescape Thursday. Today’s tablescape was so much fun to create.  I love anything that lives on a farm, and roosters and chicks are one of my favorites.  My rooster collection and a recent purchase of a French tablecloth were my inspiration.

For the underpinning of my table, I chose a French tablecloth that features roosters, hens, and chicks. Below is a close up so that you can see the detail.

The place setting consist of plates adorned with a rooster. The pattern is by Pfaltzgraff and is called Daybreak.  Serving as an anchor for the plates are green straw placemats and red charger plates.  The flatware is Michelangelo by Oneida.

The napkins are red, tied with red flowers, and berries are tucked in for added interest.

The glasses are Golden Tiara by Mikasa.

For the centerpiece, I picked up some sunflowers at the market and added some greenery from my garden to a red vase. I placed the vase on a pedestal with a boxwood wreath at the base.  Flanking the centerpiece are two of my favorite roosters from my collection.

I also created a dessert table to go along with my tablescape.

I have to admit, I did not make the pastries. I picked them up from a local French Bakery. They were so delicious!

I placed some red carnations into milk bottles and placed them in a bottle carrier.

I used my Great Grandmother Limoges Tea set for serving tea with our desserts.

I began collecting French roosters during my first trip to France in 1998 when I traveled with my eldest as her graduation present. I’ve been blessed to be able to return several times and always bring back a little rooster. Yours are fabulous!

Every detail exudes French charm from the south of France. Sunflowers, chanticleers, and French pastries… all bring a smile as I remember France. Thank you for sharing this little touch of France with the first Monday Social.
