A Celebration of Love

Happy Tuesday, dear readers! Today is all about that one day a year when we celebrate love…Valentine’s Day. It can be a celebration of love for a significant other, family member, or friend. One of my favorite things to do is to make cookies for my friends and family and to prepare a special table and dinner for my husband.

“There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.”-George Sand

Today, I am thrilled to be joining 17 other table stylists to bring you our Valentine’s Day tables. Our gracious host is Rita from Panoply. You will find a list with links to all of the beautiful tables at the end of this post.

“One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love.”-Sophocles

The color palette for my table is the traditional colors of pink and red that most associate with Valentine’s Day. A heart tablecloth, that I found several years ago, provides the perfect foundation for my setting. To add an additional festive touch, a Crown Linen Design’s runner is topped with a red lace heart runner.

Red ruffled placemats anchor each plate stack. The stack consists of Famille Rose plates by William Sonoma, Mikasa English Countryside salad plates, and Haviland Moss Rose dessert plates topped with pink glass dessert compotes. Pink napkins, Oneida Michelangelo flatware, and pink goblets round out each setting.

“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”-Helen Keller

“Love is shown more in deeds than in words.”-Saint Ignatius

I chose to place my centerpiece of red and white roses, pink carnations, white spider mums, Queen Anne’s lace, and nandina in a pink chinoiserie footbath. Flanking the arrangement are pink candlesticks.

Sweet friends, I am so happy that I was able to share my table celebrating love with you.

Your visits and kind words mean so much to me.

Please be sure to visit my friend’s beautiful tables. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

“Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.”-1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Shannon I love your quotes and your table is stunning and classy. The reds are so pretty in your floral arrangement and the container is something I would love to have. 1 Corinthians 13 was used when the Captain and I married. I loved it then and love it even more today. Happy Valentine's Day …I am happy to call you friend. ❤️🥰
