FALL DINING ROOM TOUR

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend.  We received some much needed rain, and a break in the late Summer temperatures. However, this week’s forecast shows some 90 plus degree days.  I’m patiently waiting to plant my pansies in the back flower bed until we have several consecutive cooler days. I’m a little anxious, but it will be here before I know it.

Today, I would like to show you how I added some Fall touches to my dining room. I love to add seasonal decor throughout my house especially, in the rooms that I know we will be gathering. Adding special touches creates warmth and makes a home more inviting.

For the center of my table, I placed a lace table runner to anchor my centerpiece. A tray was used to create a Fall vignette.

On the back corner of one side of the tray, I placed a Fall floral arrangement upon a pedestal.

In front of the arrangement, I placed a stack of blue and white teacups.

On the other side of tray, books were placed and a coffee server and blue and white birds were added. You can easily create a Fall vignette, by simply thinking outside of the box and shopping your house.

I love these little blue and white birds.

I know that it is very popular this year to use pastel and muted colors for Fall. It is very pretty, and I enjoy looking at all the beautiful vignettes. I somewhat feel like I may be out of style. However, I am a traditionalist, and I love color. I love to bring the outdoors in and true Fall colors allow me to do so. This year, I’m particularly fond of mixing blue and whites with the deep reds, oranges, and golds.

Next, I added a Fall wreath to my mirror. Wreaths hung on a mirror make such a wonderful statement.

To add just a little more Fall to the room, bittersweet berries were placed to the top of the china cabinet.

Just found your site. I love the traditional, to me it will never be out of “style.”

    • Thank you, Peggy, for the sweet comment! I’m sorry I am so late responding to you. We just moved into our new house a few months ago, and we have been busy finishing up painting and doing other repairs to the house before the holidays. I’m so happy you found my blog, and I agree traditional never goes out of style. Take care, and I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!
