Dining Room Reveal

Happy Monday, sweet friends! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. We were surprised with a couple of evening thunderstorms. It has been so miserably hot and dry this summer, and the rain was a welcomed blessing. My flowers and plants are not faring well in this sweltering heat, and it just hasn’t been a good summer for gardening.

With the triple digit temperatures, I have been staying inside and working on my house. The dining room recently received a little makeover. It is amazing what a little paint can do to brighten up a room!

Please step inside and have a tall glass of sweet tea as I show you around.

You probably have guessed by now that I am obsessed with Palladian Blue by Benjamin Moore. This color was introduced to me by my dear blogging friend Pam at Everyday Living. Her gorgeous dining room is painted this pretty blue color. This color works so well with so many other colors and different furnishings. It just makes me happy!

Recently, I was gifted the area rug by a company call Yoolyn Rugs. The rug I chose was from their antiques collection, and it called the Camellia. The rug is washable which is great considering this room gets used quite a bit. This room is one of my favorites, because it is where loved ones gather to share a delicious meal and lively conversation.

This room houses my favorite things…blue and white china, tole trays, roosters, toile, and collected pieces of art. All of these elements make up one of my most beloved decorating styles, French Country.

The photographs above and below showcase my buffet and hutch that has always housed my Spode Blue Italian collection. Recently, I decided to intermingle my Flow Blue collection, and I adore the way the two patterns play off of each other.

Flanking one side of the buffet and hutch is my favorite Charles Faudree red toile chair. I found it several years ago at a local consignment shop. I am amazed that anyone would want to part with it. Hanging above the chair are two original rooster paintings.

On the other side of the buffet and hutch is a painting that I found at an estate sale. I do not know much about it, and I have had little success when researching the artist.

Speaking of art, I must share this painting with you. My sweet Caroline painted this piece, and it is of one of my tablescapes. I couldn’t wait to place it in my newly updated dining room. It is a treasure!

The dog painting above the side board was moved into this room from the living room. A couple of new to me pieces of art have made their way into the living room. I will share them with you soon.

It is amazing what a fresh coat of paint, a new rug, and a little rearranging will do to breath new life into a room.

I am so happy that you joined me for a glass of sweet tea and a tour around my newly refreshed living room! Your visits and kind words always bring me joy! Have a most wonderful day, dear friends!

Swooning over the refreshed dining room Shannon. I especially like the painting of the young girl with the geese and the Charles Faudree chair. Had I seen either I also would have quickly chosen them.

That is a pretty blue wall color. The painting by Caroline is precious! She could sell her art work. That Cavalier King Charles painting I have in a bedroom. Do you know the artist because I can't find any information.

    • Hi Nancy! Thank you so much for your very sweet comment! I do not know who the artist of the Cavalier King Charles painting is. I have looked as well. I found the painting at a local consignment shop. I'm so happy that you stopped by for a visit! I hope that you have a wonderful week!

  3. Shannon, your refreshed dining room is beautiful. I so love the Palladian Blue on the walls. It sings with the toile and the new rug which is gorgeous! Caroline’s painting of one of your tablescapes is stunning. I know it makes your heart swell with love to hang her painting in your dining room. The mixing of Flow Blue and Spode Blue Italian on your buffet and hutch makes both collections more stunning, if that is possible.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my visit this morning, sweet friend!
