Decorating for Fall in the Entry

Happy Thursday, dear friends! Can you believe that November will be here next week? October is one of my favorite months, and I am always sad to see it go. Today, I would love to invite you inside the entry to see how I decorated this space for fall.

One of my favorite areas to decorate for the season is my antique French buffet and Estanier cabinet. For fall, I usually display my Johnson Brothers Friendly Village dishes in the cabinet. However, I just didn’t feel like moving my Grandmother’s china out of the entry. I have really enjoyed seeing it in this space so I decided to work with it. For a seasonal touch, pumpkins, fall leaves, blooms, and berries were added to the cabinet. Flameless candles were also placed on the shelves. I love to decorate with flameless candles in the fall and winter months. They are on timers and automatically come on in the evening.

A gold turkey proudly resides on the buffet and is flanked with fall blooms and candles.

My grandmother had given me this little green pitcher several years ago thinking I would like to decorate with it. She was right…it looks perfect with fall leaves and paired with her pretty china.

You may notice that there is a new rug in the entry. This summer we had new carpet installed on the stairs, and I had a rug made to match the stairway. The previous rug was passed on to my Caroline for her apartment.

In the photograph below, you can see the new carpet on the stairs.

A little sitting area was created at the bottom of the stairs.

I made this little blue and white pumpkin several years ago by decoupaging strips of fabric to a faux pumpkin.

My friends, I want to thank you for your visits and gracious comments. May you have a blessed day and wonderful weekend! Enjoy these last days of October!
