A Country French Sitting Room

Good morning, dear friends! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start. Today, I want to invite you into my Country French Sitting Room for a cup of tea and a little conversation. This space is a curated room that houses items that are treasures in my eyes. True Country French design is a look that displays items that appear as if they have been collected over time.  This is why this decorating style speaks to my soul.  I adore a “collected look” of pretty china, art work, flowers, antiques, toile, and French chairs. It is my belief that you should surround yourself with items that bring you joy. After all, that is what makes a house a home. Our homes are our sanctuary and refuge from a bustling and hectic world.

In this room, you will find French Majolica and English Staffordshire. You may even spot an antique clock or two.

Pretty china along with antique books can be found in little vignettes.

Flowers are displayed throughout and bring such life and happiness to the room.

On the other side of the room, there is a second spot to have a seat. This room has a lot of wonderful natural light which makes me happy.

The sitting room also houses a writing desk. It is the perfect spot for doing some reading or paperwork, and the view out the window isn’t too bad either.

Sweet friends, I hope that you enjoyed the tour of my little Country French Sitting Room.

I am so happy that you stopped by for a visit.

Enjoy the rest of your day, dear friends. May it be a most blessed and happy one!!!

  8. Oh, Shannon, everything is so lovely I don’t know where to begin. I quickly spotted your Spode Tower Pink covered vegetable and plates. That is my pattern, except in blue. I never knew why they named it Tower Pink, when it is actually red. And, I am so in love with your toile. You are correct that our homes are our havens from the world and should be filled with things which speak to us. They offer us such comfort. Yours, dear friend, is warm and welcoming, a reflection of you.
    Wishing you a wonderful week.

  9. Such a pretty room! I also love reds, greens, golds, and collecting antiques. We are buildings home and will have a 10×12”ish flex room off the foyer where I plan to put French doors and it will have an east facing facing window and I plan to use it in a similar way. Thanks for the inspiration!

  10. Quite lovely my friend! Everything is beautifully placed.

I agree… our homes should be a haven filled with our world travels.

    Hugs~ Nancy

It’s such a beautiful room.Could you please tell me anything you know about the desk ? I’ve been looking for one to go in our guest room that has our antique pieces in it. We recently downsized so we have our antique guest room/ office. Your desk is similar to what I’m looking for.
