A Traditional Merry and Bright Christmas

Merry Thursday, dear readers! I am so happy that you are here to join me for a traditional merry and bright Christmas tour of my dining room. Can you believe that Christmas is only 13 days away? This is one of my most favorite times of year, and I wish I could slow time down. It seems that the days are moving by too quickly.

Please step into the dining room for a visit and a cup of Christmas cheer.

This year I chose to decorate a tree in the dining room. We decided to fill the tree with ornaments that held special memories to us. I like to call it the “memory tree.” This room that gets a lot of attention during the holidays. Many a meal and lively conversation are shared around the dining table.

Pine is draped across the top of the hutch and accented with red bows.

Holly berries, pine, and ribbons are tucked into the shelves displaying my collection of blue and white china.

A Ralph Lauren plaid tablecloth that I purchased several years ago from Home Goods lends to a traditional and festive color palette.

An April Cornell table runner anchors a Christmas centerpiece of greens, berries, and ornaments. Candles add a warm glow, and red mercury glass Christmas trees flank each end of the table.

Scalloped red charger plates and Spode Blue Italian dinner plates are topped with Pioneer Woman Christmas tree plates at each place setting. Rounding out the settings are Godinger Dublin crystal goblets and Onieda Michelangelo flatware.

“Christmas is forever, not for just one day. For loving, sharing, giving, are not put away.”-Norman Wesley Brooks

“Christmas magic is silent. You don’t hear it-you feel it. You know it. You believe it.-Kevin Alan Milne

“Christmas is a day of meaning and traditions, a special day spent in the warm circle of family and friends.”-Margaret Thatcher

On the sideboard, I placed a gold angel and a beaded fruit arrangement upon a silver tray that was a wedding gift.

Thank you so much for your visits and kind words.

I wish you a most happy and joy filled day. May you enjoy the many blessings that this wonderful season has to offer.
