Happy Tuesday, dear readers! I hope that you are enjoying some early signs of spring. My daffodils are blooming, the sun is shining brightly, and we are enjoying some warmer temperatures. I am certainly starting to get spring fever!
Can you believe that next week is Saint Patrick’s Day? Today, I am so excited to share with you a little secret that I have been keeping along with some Irish tea and some scrumptious, buttery shortbread.

Each year a beautiful cloth celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day is handed down to a blogger. This year my sweet blogging friend, Kari from Me and My Captain, chose to pass the cloth down to me. I am so honored and excited to be the “keeper of the cloth” and carry on the tradition of creating a lovely Saint Patrick’s Day setting.

“May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow. And may trouble avoid you wherever you go.”

The details of the cloth are so pretty with the verdant display of dancing shamrocks.

The shamrock tea set was a recent purchase. I have always wanted one and being this year’s “keeper of the cloth” gave me the perfect excuse.

Help yourself to a piece of buttery shortbread. It is yummy and a favorite of mine.

“May you have all the happiness and luck that life can hold-and at the end of your rainbows may you find a pot of gold.”

White spider mums, green mums, and greenery fill an antique shamrock pitcher. The pitcher belonged to my great-great aunt and was passed down to me by a dear family member.

“May your troubles be less. And your blessings be more. And nothing but happiness come through your door.”

This little leprechaun decided to tag along for a visit with the Saint Patrick’s Day cloth.

He even brought some gold coins to share.

May the road rise
to meet you.
May the wind always
be at your back,
May the sun warm
upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the
palm of his hand.
-An Irish Blessing
Thank you so much for joining me today. It has been so much fun sharing a Saint Patrick’s Day tea with you. This beautiful cloth will soon be packed away and sent to another so that she may share a festive setting with you next year. Dear friends, I wish you a most happy and blessed day!
Shannon, I have been wondering who ‘the keeper of the cloth’ might be. I am so happy that it is you. Your setting is beautiful. I love your new shamrock tea set. I would love to share tea and a buttery shortbread with you. The spider mums and green mums look beautiful in your family heirloom pitcher.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, my friend ☘️💚☘️
Thank you Shannon for a beautiful table; you did not disappoint as the keeper of the cloth. I do know it can be difficult keeping a secret for a whole year but you did the cloth proud. I also know how difficult it is to pick a new keeper of the cloth, but I am sure you will do that well also. I love your new tea set and don't we all like to find an excuse to buy something new. It goes well with your lovely heirloom pitcher handed down to you. I would love to sit at your table and sip tea and eat those shortbread slices any day of the week. Thanks again…dear friend.
Your tablescapes are always so beautiful and appropriate for the season. This one doesn't disappoint. Its beautiful.
Such a wonderful surprise Shannon to find out, you are the Keeper of the Cloth this year. You did the cloth proud with your new shamrock tea set. The prized Irish pitcher is so lovely filled with beautiful flowers. A beautiful table to sit down and enjoy a spot of tea and yummy shortbread. Kudos to you for keeping the secret a senile year and then passing the lovely cloth on to someone else.
Lovely display.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day

What a beautiful tea setting you have. The cloth is gorgeous! I really like your Irish tea set. How fun for you.🍀💚🍀
I would love to know the history of the cloth and who has had it and how it started. ☘️💚☘️
Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
How fun you are Keeper of the Cloth this year Shannon! Love your pretty pitcher of pretty green and white blooms and shamrock tea service! Beware of the shenanigans of that leprechaun, I have it on good authority that he can be quite mischievous. 😉☘️💚
I loved reading you being the Keeper of the Cloth, Shannon! What a delightful tea you've set, and I love the reasoning for purchasing the tea set. You just had to. 😉💚☘️
