A Pretty Spring Tablescape

Happy Wednesday, dear friends! I hope that you are enjoying lovely spring weather. In Oklahoma, we have had some beautiful days, but yesterday Mother Nature threw us a curveball. We went from a 75 degree day to freezing temperatures and snow! I believe we may have set a record. Hopefully, spring will soon return.

Last week, with all of natures beauty around me, I was inspired to set a small but pretty spring table in the breakfast nook. A floral April Cornell tablecloth seemed to be the perfect choice to serve as the anchor for my table. She always has the most beautiful table linens.

We have several wild plum trees growing in the woods behind the house. When the branches bloom the fragrance is heavenly. I decided that a few of the branches would make a lovely centerpiece in my pink McCoy vase. I have heard that wild plum jelly is delicious, but sadly the squirrels always seem to beat me to the fruit.

Green straw placemats, pink chargers, and a plate stack of Haviland china and green Majolica style plates by Bordallo Pinheiro are at each setting. Floral tea towels by Martha Stewart serve as napkins. I love to mix colors, patterns, and textures. In my eyes, it creates a more interesting display.

I’m so happy that you were able to gather around my table. Thank you for your visits and gracious comments. I hope that you have a most blessed and happy day, sweet friends! Take care!

  1. Hi Shannon,

Wow the weather certainly was strange. It sounds like you're I'm our home state NJ.

It can go from one extreme to the other in spring and fall.

The wild plum tree have pretty flowers. We had them in our old house.

Your table as pretty as always. I have a McCoy light blue pitcher that's almost white, very pretty.

I hope the weather gets it's act together.

    Cindy

  2. The weather is definitely playing tricks on us. We have a frost advisory in the morning. Your spring table is gorgeous. The wild plum branches make the loveliest centerpiece in the sweet McCoy pitcher. I love the plate stack and the beautiful AC linens. I hope spring makes a comeback quickly. Wishing you a joy-filled Wednesday sweet friend.

  3. So pretty Shannon! You really have brought the outside in with the beautiful wild plum branches, I love the airy look of them! The April Cornell cloth is so colorful and pretty, what a happy Spring spot you've created and today you can look at it and forget about the cold temps outside, so warm and welcoming!

Who wouldn’t want to dine at this gorgeous table?! Such a beautiful table scape and post. I’m with you, I can’t seem to get enough of mixing colors and patterns, it just seems to lift the spirit. Thank you for sharing. Your post brightened my morning.

What a beautiful spring table setting! Love the pink vase and your beautiful china. I hope you spring weather comes back soon.

  6. We’ve had a big swing in our spring weather, too. We had two nights of freezing temperatures and even snow one day. I covered my peonies and early veggies and I think everything (even those not covered) made it. Your table is so bright and cheery! Love how you use lots of color. My favorite part though, are those rose Haviland dishes! My mom had some very similar and I always loved them! Wishing you a warmer spring, Shannon! Zenda

  7. Shannon, this Spring table is so lovely. I just love April Cornell tablecloths. It would be so cozy and relaxing to be chatting and eating with family and friends at this table. It is like dining in an outside garden. Beautiful.

  8. Good morning, Shannon. Your table is lovely, as is your china. And your plum branches are perfect for your table and beautiful. Your table tells us spring will arrive, and we hope soon. We had snow, black skies, and sunshine all on the same day. Plus we had 29 degrees the past two nights. But, that is spring! Happy weekend to you, my friend.

Beautiful table setting, Shannon! Your china blends perfectly w/ your lovely tablecloth. My son & dil live in Broken Arrow, so I know your weather has been interesting of late, but your table brings spring inside just the same. Wishing you warm spring days. Hugs, sweetie.

  10. A beautiful table, sweet. Boulder used to have an April Cornell store in the 90's but it is no longer here. I always enjoyed shopping there…plus they had great sales on napkins, and tablecloths. We received 9 inches of snow last Monday. Ha, spring in the Rockies! Looking forward to nice weather this weekend. Luckily, the snow melts very fast at this altitude. Always enjoy your posts. Love the blossom centerpiece too.
