CREATING A BAKING CART

As I previously mentioned last week, I want to share ideas to help you prepare for the Fall Season that lies ahead.  During the Summer months, we tend to eat lighter meals and cook outside.  However, as the temperatures become cooler, we find ourselves back in our kitchen creating lots of delicious and comforting foods.  Why not get started now on organizing your kitchen to make cooking so much easier and more enjoyable?

It is no secret that I love to cook, and I especially love to bake.  My kitchen has very limited counter space. Therefore, I decided to create a baking cart for storing all of my important appliances and baking essentials. I’ll show you step by step how I created my cart, and maybe it will inspire you to do the same.

I purchased this wonderful kitchen cart from Amazon.  It is stainless steel, chef’s quality, and can hold up to 500 pounds. You want to make sure that you choose a sturdy cart to use as your baking station.  It must be able to handle the weight that you put upon it especially if you have a heavy duty stand mixer.

The top shelf houses my stand mixer, utensils, measuring spoons, measuring cups, and mixing bowls.

When I bake, I keep at least two sets of measuring cups and measuring spoons.  This makes it easier if you need to use a certain size cup or spoon more than once for a particular recipe.

The second shelf of the baking cart stores my food processor.  I love my food processor for making delicious pie crusts.

On the third shelf, I store my food processor blades in one container.  The basket houses my hand mixer and attachments for my stand mixer.

When I am not using my baking cart, I store it in a recessed area in my walk in pantry. When we purchased the home, there was a little door leading to this recessed area in the pantry.  We removed the door, and it makes a perfect place to store the cart.

  1. I love this idea. At the end of a busy baking day, I want to tidy up my kitchen, and this is the perfect way to keep everything handy, but be able to roll it right into the pantry, out of site! I am pinning this one while I look for my cart!

    • Hi Chloe! Thank you for your sweet comments. I love my baking cart. I have had it for about a year, and it makes baking so much easier. They had these carts at the Container Store, but I was able to find them for a much better price on Amazon. I hope this helps. I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!

  2. Very nice idea! I have a cabinet to the left of my stove that houses my baking needs. My mixer s tags on the counter. It is so nice to have things grouped and handy.

    • Hi Crystal! Yes, it is so wonderful to have your making needs grouped together. It makes baking so much more enjoyable and easier. It is so wonderful that you have a special place to house your baking supplies, and that is a great tip for others that may not have room for a baking cart. They can do like you, and find a designated area of their kitchen for their baking necessities. I am so limited on counter and cabinet space that I had to come up with another solution. Thank you so much for your very sweet comments and for your great tip of finding a designated place in your kitchen for a storing your baking supplies. I’m so happy that you stopped by, and I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!

  7. What a great idea that is. Thank you for sharing it. Sometimes it just takes a little imagination to solve a problem. We have a corner of the kitchen that would fit just such a little cart, and we’re short on drawer space. I may have to show this to The Great Dane!

  8. What a terrific idea and I love the way that it looks! Perfect at the end of your island!

It is that “thing” I’ve been wanting and needing but couldn’t figure out what it was or couldn’t put into words. I love the color and the sleek design. You have organized yours perfectly and so attractively, what more could any baker want? It’s so attractive, you don’t really need to ever put it away! Thank you for your creativity!
