Fall in the Dining Room

Good morning and happy fall, dear friends! I hope you are enjoying this first week of autumn. I know I am loving the cooler temperatures. Today, I want to invite you in for a cup of tea and a look around my dining room adorned for the season…my favorite season!

Before, we get into the details of the autumn decor, I want to show you my new curtains. Since we moved in, I have been studying this window trying to decide what I wanted to do with it. Window treatments can often be a very costly proposition. You can imagine my joy when I found these blue toile curtains online at an affordable price. They are made of a very nice fabrication and look like a high end custom made curtain. I am over the moon with joy at how these turned out!

For this years autumn decor, I have tried to use what I have on hand and items from nature. We are still being very cautious and staying close to home as much as possible.

For the centerpiece of my dining table, I chose to use my Spode Blue Italian vase and fill it with autumn berries and pheasant feathers. Mr. Bleu loves to pheasant hunt and always saves the feathers for me. I thought that fall would be the perfect opportunity to put them to good use.

Decoupaged pumpkins that I made several years ago flank the Spode vase. It is such an easy project. All you need is a faux pumpkin, some fabric cut into strips, and Mod-Podge. In fact, I made a few more this week for another project. I love pretty fabrics and have a collection of remnants to choose from.

Faux pumpkins, autumn berries, and pheasant feathers adorn the china hutch. I love using traditional fall colors when decorating for the season.

Thank you, sweet friends, for your visits and gracious comments. I hope that you have a most blessed and beautiful day and weekend ahead! Take care!
